Energy Saving Trust announce improvements to Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan Scheme

Following customer and industry feedback, the Scottish Government and Energy Saving Trust (EST) have implemented several improvements to the Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan Scheme processes.

The changes have been made to make the process easier and more user-friendly, including:

• Simplified anti-fraud checks to speed up this process.
• Improvements to the application and claims forms for better ease of use.
• Named contacts in the team who manage the scheme at Energy Saving Trust, giving customers a direct point of contact throughout their application.
• Customer guidance to further support people through the process.
• Installer guidance to further support installers through the process.
• Removal of some documentation to help simplify customer journeys.

EST have also published an updated installer guidance document which aims to further the understanding of the scheme, its processes, and support installers who have customers accessing the funding.

There have also been updates to customer referral packs, and claim packs which are now available on its resources hub.

EST have also confirmed there will be more improvements on the way, including a full review of the application and claims process.
